Solutions Provided:

Problem Identified:

The property was impacted by a sewage-related loss, resulting in contamination across multiple areas including bathrooms, bedrooms, basement, kitchen, garage, and adjoining spaces. Visible signs of damage included unsanitary buildup, moisture intrusion, and affected structural materials, particularly in areas with plumbing connections and flooring.

Due to the nature of sewage contamination (Category 3 water), the environment posed significant health risks, requiring immediate containment and specialized remediation procedures. Certain fixtures and materials, including toilets and sections of flooring, were compromised and deemed unsafe for retention.

Corrective Actions Performed:

The restoration process began with controlled demolition and removal of contaminated materials. Affected toilets in upper bathrooms were safely detached and removed, while flooring materials bonded to the subfloor were carefully prepped and partially removed to allow proper access for treatment.

Selective drywall removal was carried out in impacted areas, particularly in bathroom and adjacent wall sections, to eliminate hidden contamination and moisture retention. Due to plumbing limitations, some areas required phased removal and follow-up work to ensure full access and proper remediation.

All exposed surfaces were treated with professional-grade antimicrobial solutions to neutralize bacteria and prevent further microbial growth. Special attention was given to high-risk zones such as bathrooms, basement areas, and utility spaces.

Drying & Sanitization Process:

Industrial drying equipment, including air movers and dehumidifiers, was deployed to stabilize moisture levels throughout the structure. Continuous monitoring was conducted to ensure all affected materials reached acceptable industry-standard dryness levels.

Cross-contamination control measures were implemented to prevent the spread of sewage contaminants to unaffected areas. This included proper containment practices and controlled workflow across different sections of the property.
