FIRE CAUSES AND SAFETY TIPS

We’re fast approaching the hot and dry season of Summer, and accidental fires are easy to come by. When was the last time you reviewed some fire prevention tips?

A single spark is all it takes to create an uncontrollable blaze, so doing something as simple as properly disposing of cigarettes or allowing barbeque ash to fully cool before attempting to toss out could make a big difference.

Did you know? Even just the temperature of a recently-parked car’s exhaust in dry, grassy areas is enough to potentially ignite!

While it may seem like common knowledge, it can never be stated enough: routinely check and maintain your smoke detectors to make sure they are functional and ready to do their jobs. Have a fire safety plan for worst-case scenario that includes two ways out of every room, at least one fire extinguisher in your home and digital copies of valuable documents and records.

Anything can happen, and we know all-too-often, it does. So, if you find yourself a victim of a fire, no matter how big or small, we can help. Our 24-hour response team can be with you every step of the way, from assessing the structural integrity of your space and working with your insurance company, to salvaging any material possessions we can.
