Upon arrival, containment and protection measures were established to isolate the affected work area and prevent cross-contamination to adjacent living spaces. Polyethylene sheeting was installed from floor to ceiling, with seams securely sealed using painter’s tape to maintain a tight barrier. Temporary access points were created and reinforced to allow entry while preserving containment integrity.

Floor protection was installed throughout the work area to protect unaffected flooring and finishes during mitigation activities. Cabinetry, appliances, and countertops within the contained space were shielded to prevent exposure to moisture, debris, or cleaning agents. The containment setup extended across open transitions to separate the kitchen area from adjoining rooms.

HVAC openings and ceiling penetrations within the containment zone were sealed to prevent the movement of airborne particles into the ventilation system. Plastic barriers were carefully taped along walls, ceilings, and door frames to ensure proper isolation. All containment materials were installed in accordance with industry best practices for water and microbial loss control.

The work area was prepared for ongoing mitigation and drying activities, ensuring safe access and protection of contents. Equipment placement areas were identified, and the environment was stabilized to support effective drying and treatment procedures. All preparation and containment measures were documented photographically.

These actions were taken to limit the spread of moisture and contaminants, protect unaffected areas of the property, and support the safe and effective continuation of mitigation and restoration services.
