Water damage was observed affecting the carpet and wall assemblies, with indicators of repeated wetting and drying over an undetermined period. At the time of inspection, the carpet was slightly damp, and no active standing water was present. The condition of the materials confirmed prolonged moisture exposure. Moisture intrusion was also associated with microbial growth observed in the ceiling area. No water damage or moisture concerns were identified behind the dishwasher or within the kitchen area during the inspection.

The source of the water intrusion was traced to a plumbing leak located between the basement and the kitchen above. The leak originated from a white plumbing line, with visible dark residue present on the exterior of the pipe, indicating ongoing leakage prior to discovery.

The affected carpet and padding were evaluated and identified as compromised due to prolonged moisture exposure. Wall assemblies were assessed to determine the extent of moisture impact and potential material involvement. The ceiling area exhibiting microbial growth was documented as part of the loss.

The plumbing source was identified and documented. Repairs to the leaking plumbing line were scheduled and confirmed, with Dustin assigned to complete the repair the following day.

Customer preferences regarding insurance involvement were documented. The customer, Jael/Vic Chris, requested assistance with the insurance claim process or participation in a three-way call, as they preferred not to contact the carrier directly. The loss was documented as sudden and accidental in nature.

All findings, moisture conditions, and source identification were documented to support mitigation planning, repair coordination, and potential insurance claim handling.
