The property sustained damage after a tree strike compromised the exterior envelope, allowing water to intrude into the structure and migrate downward into the interior and basement areas. This resulted in prolonged moisture exposure to wall cavities, framing members, insulation, flooring, and finishes. The images show extensive demolition where drywall, ceiling materials, and insulation were removed to expose wall studs, sill plates, and overhead framing. Visible water staining, saturation marks on concrete floors, darkened and deteriorated wood at the base of studs, and widespread microbial growth along lower wall sections indicate that moisture had been present for an extended period. In several areas, the bottom plates and framing were directly affected, which elevates the loss beyond cosmetic damage and into structural concern. Standing moisture, high humidity conditions, and elevated moisture readings confirmed the need for aggressive mitigation to prevent further deterioration and potential structural weakening.

In response, the crew performed a controlled demolition to remove all water-damaged and contaminated materials, including drywall, insulation, flooring, and affected wall sections, down to sound structural components. This allowed full access to inspect the framing, sill plates, and load-bearing elements for integrity and moisture saturation. Specialized drying equipment, including dehumidifiers and air movers, was deployed to dry the exposed structure thoroughly, while moisture levels were continuously monitored to ensure drying goals were achieved. Areas showing microbial growth were cleaned and treated according to industry standards to prevent spread and future contamination. By opening the structure and addressing both the visible and hidden damage, the crew ensured that the building could dry properly, be safely restored, and rebuilt without trapping moisture behind new finishes. This comprehensive approach protected the long-term structural stability of the home and prepared the space for full reconstruction, restoring it to a safe, dry, and functional condition.
